Nancy Freitas Lambert, PsyD

Nancy

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in the treatment of trauma, healing and recovery. My work involves exploring different ways to move through the pain of the past and learn new coping skills that are helpful and effective, for creating peace and joy in our lives.

I work with individuals and couples who are hoping to obtain a deeper understanding about themselves and their past experiences. I believe therapy can be an opportunity for people to change unhealthy patterns that often cause pain and suffering to themselves and others. In a supportive and non-judgmental environment my clients are able to explore what aspects of their past may be getting in the way of living fully in the present.

I work in a collaborative fashion, encouraging people find the freedom to live their own lives in authentic and loving ways. I believe we all have our own answers within, and often times need help and assistance in asking our selves the right questions. This helps us become open about who we are and what makes us truly happy.

Over the last nineteen years, I have studied and worked from a relational model. I often work with individuals who have a history of emotional, sexual and physical abuse, and it is my experience and belief that there is tremendous potential for healing at a deep level and in a meaningful way using this therapeutic relationship.

This takes commitment, consistency, and curiosity in opening up to new ways of healing. I work with many different modalities and believe the process of healing requires us to find a healthy state of balance between mind, body and spirit. I use these in my practice and refer my clients to other specialist within my group when needed. Here are some of the modalities and practices I find most helpful and healing: EMDR, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Yoga, Pilates, Visualization, Nutrition, Meditation, Massage/Bodywork, Somatic Experiencing.

It is my heartfelt desire for my clients to experience the joy that comes from healing in a safe and positive environment, learning and developing self-nurturing practices. This leads to the creation of living a meaningful life.
